Noble Mineral Resources Site Update

We were contacted by Noble Mineral Resources to work with their graphic designer to build a brand new website. With out having anything to do with the design or layout we set out to make sure that the site not only functioned properly but also was built to the highest of standards making sure is would provide a solid framework to work on search engine optimisation. The website was also fitted out with a content management system allowing the Noble staff to update their site when they need to.

Planning something big

We've been a bit quite of late and there is a really good reason for it.

First up we have been working hard on our little experiment which is actually already starting to provide us with some positive results, which is a lot sooner then we anticipated. Again we are not about to let you know what it is however the more web savvy of you out there would have already worked it out.

What we have managed to do is launch a facebook page for Hans Jud Hairdressing http://www.facebook.com/pages/Perth-Australia/Hans-Jud-Hairdressing/147467731956872 which we are slowly starting to use for them as a marketing tool. This will coincide with a rather large photoshoot we are doing in October and an event in November.

So while it may seem that we have been quite we have actually been hard at work planning and creating content.

Spring cleaning and an experiment

Many of you noticed how content went missing from our Facebook Page a few days ago. You weren't seeing things and no it wasn't a facebook problem. We removed the content for a bit of spring cleaning which has also turned into an experiment.

I would love to go into detail about what the experiment is all about but I don't want to influence the results which will be available next months newsletter. What I can tell you is we are putting our money where our mouth is. I decided to run our service on a brand new venture. We will be sticking to the exact plan that we use for our Diamond members, except that within the first month Able Net Design will not promote the website or social media profiles, in fact this will be the last time you hear about it this month on  anything to do with Able Net Design.

I came up with the idea so that we could show you that it's not smoke and mirrors, and that with the right attitude you can turn your website along with the help of social networking into a very profitable marketing medium.

Hmmmm did I give away too much information? At least you don't have a direct link to the website and social profiles.

Blog was under attack

If you tried to access our blog over the past few hours you would have been unsuccessful. The reason for this was that our blog is hosted and run by a service called Posterous (which is great) which was the victim of a denial of service (DoS) attack to their core load-balancing services. What this means in english is that they were flooded with malicious amounts of traffic which basically blocks our requests from really users.

Credit to the guys at Posterous which not only apologised for the problem (that wasn't their fault) but also offered a quick solution which would get things back up and running.

In short thanks Posterous and our blog is back up and running again.

What the latest from Able Net Design HQ

Today we sent out our first email newsletter to our clients and various contacts. This signifies the new direction we are heading in.

If you haven't already you need to check out our new website. It has all the information required to understand what we are doing. There maybe a few bugs still on the website but we are working through them.

Eventually it is our aim to incorporate the signup process directly into the website, but until then we will just do it the old fashioned yet more involving way.

Welcome 2010 | Able Net Design

Happy New Year to you all!

I am pleased to announce that this year is going to be our biggest and best year yet.

Most people say this every year but with the planning I have done over the Christmas/New Years break I can assure you there are some great things coming.

Our main focus this year will be developing our own software. We started last year with KaffeeBreak which has over 100 registered users. First up that is going to get a facelift. We also have our first opensource project under development. The first release should be this month so it’s quite exciting.

We aren’t forgetting about our premium wordpress themes. However we are through a little spin on it. Instead of having a large collection of themes with basic options and features we are going to specialise in certain themes. For instance Trolley will be our first theme that we will be further developing. We are going to push the boundaries of what we can achieve with this theme making it the ultimate ecommerce package.

This is just a little taste of what we have planned.

Oops almost forgot to mention there will be some slight changes to the website in the coming weeks to reflect our 2010 direction.

Our new direction for 2010. It's very exciting. I hope you will all get behind our software, services and opensource projects.
